Clinical Internship at Belmont Depression and Anxiety Center

The Belmont Depression and Anxiety Clinical Internship Program is designed for counselors-in-training who are passionate about using evidence-based interventions to support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and other related mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to both personal and professional growth, with a strong interest in developing clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health concerns. A particular emphasis on integrating Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is essential. Candidates should be currently enrolled in a Clinical Counseling Master’s program or a related mental health field.

The program seeks applicants who are eager to engage in weekly didactic training and collaborate with experienced clinicians and peers to refine their clinical techniques while expanding their therapeutic knowledge. The ideal intern will be open to receiving and applying constructive feedback to foster ongoing clinical growth and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with clients from diverse backgrounds. A commitment to the highest standards of ethical practice, confidentiality, and professionalism is crucial. Additionally, candidates should be able to manage their time effectively, balance a clinical caseload, and maintain professionalism. A strong sense of responsibility, a genuine motivation to learn, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to a supportive clinical setting are also key attributes for success in this internship.

Program details:

• Weekly 1-on-1 supervision

• Weekly group supervision

• Weekly didactic training to expand your therapeutic knowledge

• Advanced training opportunities in the areas of OCD, BFRBs, PTSD, and Specific Phobias

• Lead or co-lead a support group of a topic of your interest

• Hybrid schedule

Program expectations:

• Maintain a caseload to meet your internship hours

• Prompt completion of all clinical documentation

• Complete case presentations assigned by your supervisor

• Commitment to professional growth, ethical practice, and cultural sensitivity

• August 1st start date (negotiable)
